After the apparent improvements I'd made in the previous couple of weeks (following the purchase of new shoes) this week has been a big disappointment.
I'm putting it down to the long weekend. I have to blame it on something otherwise I'll struggle to carry on with a positive attitude.
I did do the 5km route this morning, but I must have pushed a bit too hard in the first 3-4km as I had to walk for 100m or so up the last rise. I finished at a run though - but my legs felt like lead when I tried to get back up to pace. 24:30 wasn't too bad a time - all things considered.
I'll be scouring the map today to try to pick out a flatish route to do my longer run on Sunday. Then hopefully next week will be back on track.
